Resumen
Caso de serles reconocido el derecho de sufragio a todos los inmigrantes, ¿podrían transformar el sistema de partidos y las instituciones de representación en clave multiculturalista o tendrían que ejercer el voto de acuerdo con las líneas de fractura preeminentes en España para poder ver convertidas sus opciones electorales en escaños municipales? Este artículo aborda ambas preguntas empíricas analizando el voto comunitarista y el voto integrado. El primero es el dirigido a la elección de representantes comunitaristas, mientras que el segundo es aquél que, respaldando candidaturas tradicionales españolas, es susceptible de afectar a sus resultados. La literatura no ha abordado tales cuestiones. Este estudio de caso pretende cubrir el hueco mediante el análisis de las elecciones municipales españolas de 27 de mayo de 2007.

Abstract
Being the immigrants eligible to vote, could they transform the Spanish party system and representative institutions into multiculturalist ones or have they to exercise their rights according to the traditional Spanish cleavages in order to transform their ballots into town hall seats? This paper deals with both empirical questions by analyzing the communitarian vote and the integration vote. By the former it is understood the vote directed towards the election of communitarian representatives, while the latter is the vote that, in backing mainstream or traditional candidates, could swing their outcomes. There is an empirical void in the research of these questions. This study-case aims to fill it with an analisis of the last Spanish local elections, held on 27 May 2007.
