Resumen
Este artículo tiene el propósito de analizar la teoría estética de la representación historiográfica de Franklin Rudolph Ankersmit. Para ello, en primer lugar, presentaré unas reflexiones previas sobre la disciplina. A continuación, examinaré la obra precursora de Arthur C. Danto y de Ernest H. Gombrich, que tanto ha influido en la concepción de Ankersmit. En tercer lugar, investigaré la aproximación que propone Ankersmit entre la historiografía, la literatura y la estética como alguna de sus críticas, especialmente la de Perez Zagorin. Finalmente, terminaré con una consideración general sobre lo que se podría considerar esencial en la propuesta historiográfica postmoderna.

Abstract
This article analyses F. R. Ankersmit’s aesthetic theory of historical representation.
After some preliminary thoughts on the discipline, I examine the work of Arthur C. Danto and Ernst H. Gombrich, both of which were an important influence for Ankersmit. Then I present the rapprochement between historiography, literature and aesthetics proposed by Ankersmit, alongside with some of the criticism it aroused, namely by Perez Zagorin. The article concludes with a general assessment of the essential core of postmodernist historiography.
