Abstract
During the so-called Second Italian Republic there have been four different electoral systems in less than 25 years, which is an anomaly in comparative perspective. In addition, against what had been usual in this issue, the Italian Constitutional Court, in its judgments 1/2014 and 35/2017, has exhibited certain judicial activism, declaring partially unconstitutional two electoral laws: Porcellum and Italicum. This paper examines the most recent electoral reforms in Italy, as well as the most prominent constitutional jurisprudence.
